Exulto Media engaged us to create an interactive history of golf with all its amazing stories, champions and locations.
In this app format, you pinch and zoom your way through 500 photographs; watch over 100 videos and read more than 400 stories. The app is artfully designed as an intersecting timeline across the centuries, focusing on the game, the lifestyle and the champions.

The extraordinary historical photographs and stories from the Howard Schickler Collection of vintage golf photographs, together with Peter Alliss’ depth of experience and energizing personality open up perspectives and insights into so many aspects of the game of golf.
The goal was to create an engaging digital experience from Howard Schickler’s exhaustive archive of early British and American golf photography, both men’s and ladies, of winners and important participants of the early professional and amateur championships including the Open Championship, British Amateur, the US Open, US Amateur, and other majors of the era.
These UX design case study slides illustrates some of the challenges as well as solutions and tools we applied on this project.
In our goal to create an engaging experience, we had to find an optimum balance of easy navigation, intuitive discovery, great usability, engaging multi-media content, as well as achieving frictionless commercial goals through our custom interstitial advertising framework.
In the end, both client and end user feedback as been amazingly positive!
This richly designed Golf History iPad app spans seven centuries, taking you on an interactive journey of the history of the game, from Mary Queen of Scots and Old Tom Morris to Bobby Jones’ unprecedented 1930 Grand Slam and the beginnings of modern golf.
