Vogue Magazine came out today for the iPad, with an interesting business model: 99c per issue, less content than the full magazine.
“With the Cover Exclusive app, we have created a custom brand of journalism targeted at the Twitter generation—a digitally enhanced version of our cover story, with exclusive video, audio, and photographic outtakes,” said Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue. (here's a link to the announcement)
Utilizing the Adobe Digital Publishing suite, this is a departure compared to recent magazine launches at 3.99 per issue for the full magazine content. Amidst the fact that digital iPad magazine sales have been declining of late when compared to the relatively uncluttered landscape of last fall, this should be an interesting business model to follow.
